C  B  N  Credit  Services

The success of C B N Credit Services is dependent upon the Members of each Bureau observing the confidential nature of the commercial credit information disclosed therein.

 

Each person using the “C B N History Search Facility” via the Web Site is obliged to sign, by clicking on the “Agreed & Enter“ statement at the bottom of the entry screen on behalf of themselves and their organisation, unequivocally binding them and their principals to observe the C B N CODE of CONDUCT and the provisions of the PRIVACY ACT (Cmth), 1988, as amended and the TRADE PRACTICES ACT, 1974, as amended.  [The ACTS]

 

 

 

C B N CODE OF CONDUCT

 

 

All participating members must not do an act, or engage in a practice, that breaches the Code of Conduct  

 

CONFIDENTIALITY

 

It is fundamental importance that the information gained at the C B N Credit Bureau meetings and obtained via the C B N Web Site, be kept strictly confidential to the Members.

 

Furthermore information gained by members must only be used for their Credit Control purposes and it must not be allowed to be revealed to any other party, company or individual.

 

DISCLOSURE

 

The information shall only be divulged to the Member’s Senior Management, when the requirements of The ACTS pursuant to confidentiality are understood and observed by the Member and their Senior Management.

 

Before any disclosure of confidential information takes place, the Member shall ensure that the recipient

of the information has been notified, and understands and agrees to be bound by, the implications of the requirements of The ACTS.

 

STORAGE

 

Information obtained or circulated will be stored in such a way to ensure its confidentiality by restricting access to authorised officers of the organisation who understand and agree to the provisions of The ACTS.

 

ACCURACY OF INFORMATION

 

In the event of a Member becoming aware, either during the meeting or afterwards, that they have inadvertently given inaccurate or incorrect information to the meeting, or in their written report, they

shall:

Immediately take steps to correct the error by advising the Chairman.  The Chairman will advise the Members as required, thus covering the provisions of The ACTS.
